The Old Museum was the first building to be constructed on museum island and was designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in 1830. Inside this building there is much to see, with art and sculpture from both ancient Rome and Greece.
This interesting museum also offers post-war East German art and a large etching / drawing collection, with works from both old masters and current day artists. The Old Museum also features a famous rotunda with sculptures of Zeus and his entourage.
Berlin Old Museum art gallery open: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday to Sunday 10:00 to 18:00, Thursday 10:00 to 22:00
